The year 2007 was extraordinary for Thumbelina. For nearly seven months, Thumbelina traveled across America in the Thumby-mobile to visit sick, needy, troubled, disabled and abused children. She made hundreds of stops in all 48 continental states to bring hope and comfort to countless children in need of some joy in their lives. It was an amazing experience that we shall never forget.
We will forever cherish the friendships forged during this incredible adventure. From town to town, we were welcomed with overwhelming generosity. Everyday strangers would offer us a meal, open up their home, or assist when we were stranded. Ours is truly a great nation and we extend our heart-felt thanks to all of our new friends. The tour would not have been possible without you!
The 2007 tour focused primarily on children at hospitals, shelters and special schools and camps. Goose Creek Farms is pleased to announce that the children’s tour will continue in 2008 and beyond. Furthermore, the tour will be adding more therapeutic riding centers and military bases to the schedule in 2008. Thumbelina looks forward to all of the new friends she will meet in the years to come.
